While other models use wooden panels on the sides for a calmer environment, the SDB-V8 goes the opposite direction — full bar construction on all surfaces except the frame. This is the right choice when airflow is the top priority.
Dogs that run hot, large breeds in warm climates, or dogs that simply prefer an open view around them will thrive in the SDB-V8. The bars allow air to move in from every direction, which makes a significant difference on summer drives or long motorway journeys where the car interior heats up.

The SDB-V8 features bar construction on all sides — not just the door. Security Lock

Is a fully bar crate suitable for anxious dogs? Not always. Anxious dogs often do better in the SDB-V7, where wooden side panels reduce visual stimulation and create a calmer, more enclosed environment. If your dog is confident and curious during travel, the SDB-V8 is an excellent choice.
Does the bar construction make it heavier? No. The fully anodized aluminum frame keeps the weight low regardless of the bar configuration. The SDB-V8 is still easy to carry and install by one person.

How do I measure my trunk for the SDB-V8? Measure the inner width, depth, and height of your trunk. Also measure your dog — length, width when lying down, and standing height. Send us both sets of measurements when ordering.
Can I install and remove the crate myself? Yes. Despite its solid construction, the SDB-V8 is light enough to handle on your own and requires no tools to install or remove.
