Model SDB-V10 — Inner Seat Box
The SDB-V10 is the answer for dog owners who don’t have a traditional car trunk — or whose trunk is too small, too awkward, or already in use. This model is designed to sit inside the car cabin itself, on the back seat or the floor, giving your dog a secure, ventilated space without needing a dedicated luggage area.

Most dog crates assume you have a standard estate car or SUV with a usable trunk. The SDB-V10 breaks that assumption. It’s built for the car you actually have.
Two doors — one on each side — make it easy to let your dog in and out regardless of where the crate is positioned inside the car. If you park on the road and can only open one side, or if you want to load your dog from the pavement rather than the road, the two-door design gives you that flexibility.
Two Doors — One on Each Side
Unlike trunk models with a single rear door, the SDB-V10 has a door on both the left and right side. Each door has its own independent security lock. This gives you flexibility in how and where you position the crate inside the car.
Bars on All Sides
The SDB-V10 features bar construction on all sides for maximum airflow and ventilation. Your dog has a clear view in every direction and fresh air circulates freely, which is especially important when the crate is positioned inside a car cabin rather than an open trunk.
Security Locks
Each door has its own robust safety lock that cannot be opened accidentally during transit.
Fully Anodized Aluminum Frame
The structural frame is made from fully anodized aluminum — lightweight, strong, corrosion-resistant, and hypoallergenic. The SDB-V10 is easy to move and reposition inside the car as needed.
Custom Color Combinations
The powder-coated iron corners and fasteners are available in different color combinations on request.
The SDB-V10 is the right choice if:

Fully anodized aluminum — used for the frame. Lightweight, corrosion-proof, hypoallergenic, and scratch-resistant.
Powder-coated iron — used for all bar structures, corners, and fasteners. Rust-resistant and available in custom colors.
All materials are hypoallergenic and safe for direct contact with your dog.
How do I measure for the SDB-V10? Measure the space where you plan to place the crate — the available width, depth, and height inside the cabin. Also measure your dog: length, width when lying down, and standing height. Send both sets of measurements when ordering and we will build the crate to fit.
Is it safe to use inside the cabin? Yes. The SDB-V10 is built to the same structural standards as all SafeDogBox models — rigid aluminum frame, secure locks, no sharp edges. We recommend securing it with a seat belt or anchor strap to prevent movement during sudden braking.
Can it fit in the boot of a small car? It depends on the dimensions of your boot. The SDB-V10 is designed primarily for in-cabin use, but if your boot is an unusual shape, contact us and we will advise which model suits your car best.
Can I remove it easily when I need the back seat space? Yes. The SDB-V10 requires no permanent fixtures. It can be placed and removed as needed.
Does the bar-only construction make it feel less secure for the dog? Some dogs prefer the enclosed feeling of wooden panels. If your dog tends to be anxious, consider whether the SDB-V7 (with wooden sides) might suit them better, or whether the SDB-V10’s positioning inside the cabin — closer to you — provides enough reassurance on its own.
