Bar Door for Maximum Airflow
The door is made from steel bars with a powder-coated finish, allowing maximum airflow and ventilation. Your dog can see out through the front, you can check on them through the rear window, and fresh air circulates freely throughout the crate.
Security Lock
The door is secured with a robust safety lock that cannot be opened accidentally during transit. You can choose whether the door opens to the left or to the right — just let us know when ordering, based on how you access your trunk.
Fully Anodized Aluminum Frame
The structural frame of the SDB-V7 is made from fully anodized aluminum — lightweight, strong, corrosion-resistant, and hypoallergenic. Unlike steel, aluminum doesn’t rust. Unlike plastic, it doesn’t crack or warp over time.
Custom Color Combinations
The powder-coated iron corners and fasteners are available in different color combinations on request. If you want the crate to match your car interior or simply prefer a specific look, we can accommodate that.

How do I decide between the SDB-V7 and the SDB-V8?
Choose the SDB-V7 if your dog prefers a calmer, more enclosed environment or tends to be anxious during travel. Choose the SDB-V8 if your dog runs hot, needs maximum airflow on all sides, or you live in a warm climate.
Can the door open to either side?
Yes. When ordering, specify whether you want the door to open to the left or the right based on how you access your car trunk.
Is the plywood safe if my dog chews on it?
We use waterproof plywood with no harmful additives and no sharp edges. It is safe for direct contact with your dog. However, if your dog is an active chewer, we recommend addressing the behavior separately — no crate material is designed to withstand determined chewing.
How do I measure my trunk for the SDB-V7?
Measure the inner width, depth, and height of your trunk. Also measure your dog — length, width when lying down, and standing height. Send us both sets of measurements when ordering and we will build the crate to fit precisely.
Can I install and remove the crate myself?
Yes. The SDB-V7 is designed to be easy to install and remove without tools. Despite its robust construction, it is light enough to handle on your own.
